Abu Dhabi International (AUH) is the capital's main airport and the home hub of Etihad Airways. In 2023 a new passenger terminal (Terminal A) opened here — one of the largest in the world by floor area, built to handle decades of passenger growth.
The airport sits about 30 km from the city centre, roughly midway between Abu Dhabi and Dubai — if you're connecting through one city but staying in the other, the ride to your hotel usually takes about an hour.
