Getting from the airport to the city

Metro Red Line, stations at Terminals 1 and 3; frequent service, connects to Downtown and Dubai Marina. 15–35 min

About the airport

Dubai International (DXB) is Dubai's main airport and one of the world's busiest by international passenger traffic. It's the home hub of Emirates and flydubai, which is why so many connecting flights route through DXB — many journeys from Europe to Asia and Oceania go via Dubai.

The airport sits just 5 km from Downtown, effectively within the city itself — the ride from the gate to your hotel takes less time here than in many other world capitals.

Terminals and facilities

Three terminals: Terminal 3 is one of the largest terminal buildings in the world and serves Emirates flights only; Terminal 1 handles most other foreign carriers; Terminal 2 is mostly used by flydubai and budget routes. Inside are the Dubai Duty Free shops, dozens of cafes and restaurants, business and first-class lounges, a capsule hotel and showers in the transit area.

Parking

Each terminal has covered multi-level parking with hourly and daily rates; for several days it's cheaper to use the remote long-stay car parks with a shuttle to the terminal. Valet parking is available at Terminal 3.
