Dubai Mall

The Dubai Mall is one of the largest shopping centres in the world. It stands in the heart of Dubai at the foot of the world's tallest tower, the Burj Khalifa, and is worth a whole day.

There are more than a thousand shops, including the country's richest choice of luxury brands, and so much entertainment that many people come here without any plans to shop.

What you'll find in the mall

Shops. Luxury brands are gathered in a separate gallery, Fashion Avenue. There is the French department store Galeries Lafayette, an indoor Gold Souk and Candylicious, one of the largest sweet shops in the world.

Entertainment. The Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo, whose huge tank wall you can see right from the shopping gallery. There is also an Olympic-size ice rink, the children's edutainment centre KidZania, the indoor theme park Play DXB and Reel Cinemas.

Restaurants and a hotel. Dozens of cafés and restaurants, many overlooking the Dubai Fountain, and The Address, a luxury five-star hotel connected to the mall.

How to get there

A covered, air-conditioned Metro Link bridge connects the mall directly to Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall station on the Red Line, so you can get here without stepping out into the heat. By car, there are multi-storey car parks at the mall, including one at Fashion Avenue.

Tips before you go

Come in the morning and decide after a couple of hours how to spend the rest of the day: it is easy to lose track of time here.

This is also where you go up to the Burj Khalifa observation decks — the At the Top entrance is inside the mall. In the evening, head out to the lake: the fountain shows can be seen from the restaurant terraces.

Restaurants and cafés often stay open later than the shops.
