DWC ICAO: OMDW مطار آل مكتوم الدولي
Al Maktoum International (DWC) is Dubai's second airport, in the Dubai South area, about 45 km from Downtown and actually closer to Abu Dhabi than to central Dubai. It currently handles far fewer passenger flights than DXB — mostly low-cost carriers and some regional routes — but it's a major cargo hub.
Dubai has announced a large-scale expansion of DWC, with plans for it to eventually take over most of the city's passenger traffic — for now, though, it's more of an airport for those in the know than Dubai's main gateway.
The passenger terminal is more compact than DXB's — shorter queues, but fewer shops and restaurants. There are duty-free areas and a handful of cafes.
Open-air parking in front of the terminal with hourly and daily rates — usually less crowded than at DXB.

About 45 km - noticeably further than DXB. A taxi takes 40-60 minutes; given the distance, a pre-booked transfer is often more convenient.
