JBR Beach is one of Dubai's most popular free public beaches. It runs along Jumeirah Beach Residence in Dubai Marina, right by The Walk, with the sea on one side and cafés, shops and skyscrapers on the other.
The water is clean, the sand is pale, and there is everything you need for a full beach day.
What you'll find on the beach
Facilities. Sun lounger and umbrella hire, changing rooms, showers and toilets.
Food and fun. Plenty of cafés and snack bars along The Walk, grocery and beach shops, sports areas, playgrounds and water sports.
Boat trips. Boats leave from the Dubai Marina piers, for example on a 90-minute speedboat tour around the Palm and to the Burj Al Arab.
How to get there
The easiest way is the tram: the Jumeirah Beach Residence 1 and Jumeirah Beach Residence 2 stops are right by the promenade. You can change from the metro at Sobha Realty (formerly Dubai Marina) and DMCC stations. By taxi, just ask for "JBR Beach".
Tips before you go
In summer the sand gets very hot in the middle of the day, so come in the morning or towards sunset, and walk along The Walk in the evening.
Swimwear is for the beach only: on the promenade and in cafés people dress modestly.
For a quieter beach, try other public beaches along Jumeirah, such as Kite Beach.
