Mall of the Emirates and Ski Dubai

One of the largest malls in Dubai is located in the Al Barsha area. The easiest way to get there is by metro, the station is called Mall of the Emirates.
This mall is a bit smaller than The Dubai Mall, but there are almost the same number of stores, especially if you are interested in European brands. If you prefer luxury brands, then better to go to Dubai Mall. 
The Mall of the Emirates is decorated in Arabic style and some elements may be counted as real pieces of art. There are much fewer people here than in The Dubai Mall, so if you really came for shopping, not wandering around, the Mall of the Emirates is a great option.

One of the curiosities of the mall is the Ski Dubai ski complex where you may ski in the land of eternal summer.
