Al Mamzar Beach Park is a popular public beach in Deira, right by the border with Sharjah. It is a large green park with several beaches, palm trees and lawns for picnics.
The beach is sandy, lined with coconut palms, with paths for running and cycling.
What you'll find on the beach
Facilities. Shade structures, sun lounger and umbrella hire, barbecue areas, and cafés and kiosks selling food and beach gear nearby.
Pools — you can swim in one of the park's pools for an extra fee.
Al Mamzar lagoon beach. Next to the park is another beach around the lagoon, also with cycling and running paths. It is less popular because a road runs past it, but it is lovely for an evening picnic and sunset, with a view not of Dubai but of neighbouring Sharjah.
How to get there
The park is in Al Mamzar, Deira. A taxi or car is the easiest option; parking inside the park is paid, outside it is free.
Tips before you go
According to travel guides, entry is AED 5 per person (free for children under 2), and the park is open Sunday to Wednesday from 8 am to 10 pm and Thursday to Saturday and on public holidays until 11 pm. We could not confirm this on the municipality's website, so check on site.
On Mondays and Wednesdays the park is open to women and children only (boys over 6 cannot enter on those days).
