Al Qasba Promenade, Sharjah

The Al Qasba promenade runs along both sides of the Al Qasba canal. It's one of the most popular leisure spots for locals and visitors to Sharjah.
Here you can simply stroll in the cool air, sit in one of the cafes or restaurants, take a ride across the canal on a traditional abra boat or a catamaran, cool off by the fountain, and kids usually enjoy the playgrounds.
At night the promenade is beautifully lit, and a light show is even projected onto the walls of some buildings. The Al Qasba musical fountain fires several times each evening — roughly at 5:00 pm, 6:00 pm, 7:30 pm, 9:00 pm, 9:30 pm, 10:30 pm, and 11:30 pm (sometimes with an extra midnight show) — free to watch right from the promenade or from the Eye of the Emirates observation wheel.
The promenade is home to the Maraya Art Centre, where you can see the works of young Arab artists. The center hasn't been around that long, but has already established itself as a successful educational project.
