Al Badiya fortress and mosque

The ancient fortress and mosque called Al Badiya is located in the village Al Badiya, which is situated 40 km from the center of Fujairah. It is assumed that this mosque and fort were built about 500 years ago, but the exact date is unknown. It is believed that this is the oldest mosque in the United Arab Emirates. Beautiful mosque has architectural features that are very uncharacteristic for this region. Such structures are rather typical for the territory of Yemen. The Al Badia Mosque is active and can accommodate 30 people at the same time. Only Muslims can enter the mosque. The fort is a great place to look at the surrounding areas, it offers a breathtaking view of the bay and mountains.
