Fujairah Castle and Fort

Fujairah Castle and Fort are located in the historical centre of the city. The castle was built around 1500 and modernised in 1700. Its shape is unusual for the region, somewhat resembling a cave (much like the Al Badiya fortress). The castle has 4 towers: one rectangular and three round. You can climb the stairs to the tops of the towers and enjoy the views.
Entry to the castle costs 5 AED (about $1.5).
The Fujairah Museum and the ruins of an old mosque are located nearby.
The castle is open daily from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. A full visit usually takes 2-3 hours, though a quick look can be done in about 30 minutes — easy to combine with the museum and mosque ruins right next door.
