Umbrella Beach is Fujairah's city beach, 4 km from the city centre. The sand is yellowish-grey, the water gets deep very gradually, and a landscaped promenade runs along the beach — handy for a couple of hours without leaving town.
Entry is free. There is construction on one side of the beach, but the beach itself is clean.
What you'll find on the beach
Facilities. There are no loungers or umbrellas for hire, but the promenade has free toilets and showers, a few cafés, food stalls and shaded seating areas.
Activities. Beach volleyball, padel, kayak hire and, in the evening, one of the best sunsets in Fujairah.
Diving. Scuba diving is one of Fujairah's most popular activities: you can book dives locally or come from Dubai, for example on the discovery scuba diving tour in Fujairah, which usually includes transfers, equipment and an instructor.
How to get there
The beach is in Al Faseel off the E99, within Fujairah city — a taxi or car is the easiest option.
Tips before you go
This is an open city beach, so swim in modest one-piece swimwear and don't walk off the beach in it.
Bring an umbrella: there is no natural shade on the sand.
