Ferrari World is a theme park in Abu Dhabi on the man-made Yas Island. It is one of the largest indoor theme parks in the world: everything is under one red roof, so the heat is not a problem.
The park's star is Formula Rossa, one of the fastest roller coasters in the world: it reaches 240 km/h in 4.9 seconds.

What to see inside
The park has more than 20 rides and attractions. Besides Formula Rossa there is a launched roller coaster, Formula 1 simulators with Ferrari seats and steering wheels (the kind racing drivers train on), a driving school for beginners and a walk inside a Ferrari engine. Children under 1.2 m have their own rides, including a junior version of Formula Rossa.
The Ferrari Gallery shows cars the company has built since 1947.
The Ferrari World store sells souvenirs, from key rings to branded sportswear.
Roof Walk and Zip Line take you across the park's roof and down a zip line. They are a separate paid option, not part of the standard ticket, and so is driving a real Ferrari.
How to get there
Free shuttle. The park runs free buses from Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman and Ras Al Khaimah, and from Abu Dhabi city (Route D). The free Yas Express connects the attractions on Yas Island. Timetables and pick-up points are on the park's official website.
By car or taxi. Yas Island is about 110 km from central Dubai, roughly an hour's drive. Parking at the park is free for ticket holders. A transfer from Dubai can be booked in advance on Kiwitaxi.
Tour from Dubai. The easiest option from Dubai is a tour that includes the park, for example the Abu Dhabi tour with Ferrari World from Dubai.
Tips before you go
Plan a full day: the ticket gives unlimited access all day, and queues for the popular rides can be long.
Opening hours change from day to day, and some rides, including Formula Rossa, close for maintenance from time to time. Before you go, check the calendar and ride updates on the official website.
Tickets are cheaper online in advance: the official website gives a discount for buying 7 days ahead. If you also plan other Yas Island parks — Warner Bros. World, Yas Waterworld, SeaWorld — a 2 to 4 park ticket works out cheaper, for example the three-park ticket.
