Al Zorah is a protected mangrove reserve covering 195 hectares at the mouth of the Al Zorah creek in northern Ajman. Established by an Emiri decree in 2004, it became the UAE's seventh Ramsar site — a wetland of international importance — in 2017.
Around 60 bird species live here, including large flocks of flamingos, herons and waders, making it one of the country's few remaining mangrove forests. Because of its protected status, you can't simply walk in: the reserve is only accessible on a guided kayak tour with a licensed operator.
