CLYMB Abu Dhabi

CLYMB is an indoor adventure centre on Yas Island, connected to Yas Mall. It opened in November 2019 and holds two Guinness World Records: the world's largest indoor skydiving flight chamber and the tallest indoor climbing wall.

What to see

The flight chamber, about 10 m wide and 32 m high, lets you feel free fall without jumping from a plane. First-timers get gear, a safety briefing and ground training, then two one-minute flights with a personal instructor and a flying certificate. More confident flyers can book four minutes of flight time.

The Summyt wall rises 42 m. There are also beginner (5.5 m), intermediate (10 m) and advanced (22 m) walls, plus a 3 m bouldering area. A one-hour climbing session includes the equipment. Spectators can watch flights and climbs for free, subject to capacity.

Getting there

Enter through Yas Mall, about 10 minutes from Abu Dhabi International Airport and 50 minutes from Dubai. Parking at the mall's Grand Prix and Fashion car parks is free once you validate your plate at the ticket desk. Free Yas Express buses run from Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman and Ras Al Khaimah (e-ticket required), and a free shuttle, Route D, runs across Abu Dhabi.

Planning your visit

A first-time flight starts at AED 265, four minutes of flying costs AED 450 and a climbing session starts at AED 120. Buy tickets online in advance. Check in 60 minutes before a flight and 30 minutes before a climb: late arrivals lose the session without a refund. Allow one and a half to three hours in total.

Before you go

Flying is open from age 3 and climbing from age 4; the weight limit is 115 kg. Pregnant visitors, people in a hard cast or recovering from recent surgery cannot take part, and a doctor's clearance is needed for neck, back or heart conditions. Wear sportswear and trainers and bring your e-ticket and photo ID; a guardian signs the waiver for anyone aged 17 or under. Tickets are non-refundable and can be rescheduled up to 48 hours ahead.
