Jebel Jais Mountain
Jebel Jais mountain is located 64 km from the center of Ras Al Khaimah. Jebel Jais is considered the highest point in the UAE. The mountain's height is 1900 m. Tourists come here to enjoy beautiful views and walk mountain trails, while professional climbers come to explore new routes.
The main attraction of Jebel Jais is the Jais Flight zipline, offering picturesque views of the Jebel Jais valley and surroundings. The zipline is 2.6 km long — the length of 28 football fields. Descent speed is around 120 km/h, and the highest point from which the zipline descends sits at 1680 m above sea level, with a maximum height above ground of 70 m. As of 2026, Jais Flight is officially certified by Guinness World Records as the world's longest zipline — though a physically longer zipline (K3, roughly 3.2 km) opened in South Africa in 2024 and hasn't yet been submitted for Guinness certification, so the official record technically still belongs to Jebel Jais.
Prices start from AED 325 (about $88) and can go up to AED 410 ($112) depending on the day and where you book.
Important: as of early August 2026, the Jais Flight zipline is temporarily closed for maintenance — always check the current status on the official website or with the ticket seller before making the trip, so you don't come here for nothing.
Besides the main zipline, the mountain also has the Jais Sky Tour — a route of 6 interconnected shorter ziplines spanning about 5 km total, at speeds up to 60 km/h — a good alternative if the main Jais Flight is closed or unavailable on your dates.
There are cafes and grocery shops on the mountain, so you don't necessarily need to bring food, though keep in mind that prices here are inflated. Tourists can use the barbecue spots.
When choosing clothes, keep in mind that the air temperature here is 10°C lower than at the foot of the mountain, so dress warmer.
You can get here by bus from the center of Ras Al Khaimah, by taxi, or by your own car.
The bus fare is 20 AED ($5). The bus departs from the center of Ras Al Khaimah, as well as from major hotels (ask at your hotel reception) or check the Jebel Jais tourist center website.
