If you've already explored the Gold Souk and the Spice Souk, then it's time to visit the Textile Souk as it's located across the channel in Bur Dubai. You can sail here by boat or abra boat in a couple of minutes.
A textile market is an ideal place to, firstly, get to know the culture of Dubai better, and secondly, buy original souvenirs.
Entering the market, you are greeted by the unique atmosphere of the Arab market: tangled rows of trading shops, kilometers of fabrics of all colors, sellers who are ready for anything, just to sell you their goods, and loud speech. The textile market, like any other market in Dubai, is a great place to learn how to bargain.
Here you can also buy and try on traditional clothes, choose dishes or decor items. There are points where you can drink aromatic coffee and eat dates and sweets at the market. Prices on the market are affordable, but, we repeat it again, do not forget to bargain.
The souk is open Saturday-Thursday 10:00-22:00, Friday 16:00-22:00; some stalls close for a lunch break roughly 13:00-16:00.
