Beaches by the Dubai border: Al Khan, Al Corniche and the Sharjah Aquarium
Sharjah district · 4 places · 8 hotels
Al Khan is Sharjah's seaside district right on the Dubai border, home to the emirate's best city beaches and its maritime museums. The beaches of Dubai's Deira are just across the way.
Al Khan Beach is considered Sharjah's best free beach, with fine pale sand, clear water and umbrellas and sunbeds for hire. Next to it is the Sharjah Aquarium with the Maritime Museum (on a combined ticket), where you can touch rays and watch the sharks being fed. For peace and quiet there is the undeveloped beach by the Lou'Lou'a Beach Resort and the long, palm-lined Al Corniche Beach.
It is 10–15 minutes by taxi from central Sharjah and 25–40 minutes from Dubai, depending on traffic.
